Let the number be 10*x +y

ATQ
From 1st condition

>>(x+y)*8 = 10*x + y

>> 2x = 7y   ...(1)

From 2nd condition

>> (x -y) *14 + 2 = 10*x + y

>> 4x -15y + 2 = 0    ...(2)

 From (1) and (2)
put value of x in eq (2)

14y -15y + 2 = 0

>> y = 2

>> 2x = 7*2 (putting value of y in eq (1))

x = 7

y = 2

Therefore the number = 10*x + y = 72

neosingh: 2nd eq is multiplying the difference of the digit by 14 and adding 2
amritmimrotp68poa: How
neosingh: from (1) 4x =14y put this in eq (2)
neosingh: get it?
amritmimrotp68poa: How do you get the values of x and y
neosingh: i have edited the ans
neosingh: check if u understand now
amritmimrotp68poa: Where is the value of x in eq 1
neosingh: x= 7y/2
