Let the number be represented by xy

x in ten's place

x-2y=2...............(1)

10y+x= 3(x+y) +5

10y+x= 3x+3y+5

7y-2x=5...............(2)

1 x -2 y = 2 .............1

-2 x + 7 y = 5 .............2

Eliminate y

multiply (1)by 7

Multiply (2) by 2

7 x -14 y = 14

-4 x + 14 y = 10

Add the two equations

3 x = 24

/ 3

x = 8

plug value of x in (1)

1 x -2 y = 2

8 -2y = 2

-2y =2 -8

-2y = -6

y=3

the number is 83

Let us assume number as 10x+y

Let us assume number as 10x+yFrom the question, we have x=2y+2

Let us assume number as 10x+yFrom the question, we have x=2y+2and 10y+x=3(x+y)+5

Let us assume number as 10x+yFrom the question, we have x=2y+2and 10y+x=3(x+y)+5⇒7y−2x=5

Let us assume number as 10x+yFrom the question, we have x=2y+2and 10y+x=3(x+y)+5⇒7y−2x=5⇒7y−4y−4=5

Let us assume number as 10x+yFrom the question, we have x=2y+2and 10y+x=3(x+y)+5⇒7y−2x=5⇒7y−4y−4=5⇒3y=9

Let us assume number as 10x+yFrom the question, we have x=2y+2and 10y+x=3(x+y)+5⇒7y−2x=5⇒7y−4y−4=5⇒3y=9⇒y=3

Let us assume number as 10x+yFrom the question, we have x=2y+2and 10y+x=3(x+y)+5⇒7y−2x=5⇒7y−4y−4=5⇒3y=9⇒y=3So, x=8
