GIVEN:-

  • A typist can type 1080 words in 12 minutes, how many words can she type in 15 minutes at the same speed?
  • Answer in algebra.

TO FIND:-

  • No.of words typed in 15mind

SOLUTION:-

  • \implies1080/12x=15

  • \impliesx=15×1080/12

  • \impliesx=15×90

  • \impliesx=1350

:.The typist can type 1350 words in 15 mins.

EXPLANATION:-

Hey mate!Look below to understand how we got 1350 as answer.

  • First of all in the question there is written that the answer must have to be found by algebraic expression.

  • So for that we first needed to clear the concept of the question

  • In question it's given that 1080 words in 12 mins so how many can be found in 15 mins.

  • So for that as we know we cannot directly find it and the no.of words in 12 mins must have also not been found directly

  • First we found how much can be type in 1 min.

  • So for that we need to divide the terms.

  • So we put the equation as 1080/12x so that once the fraction goes to R.H.S. it's sign gets changed and then on simplifying we get 15×90 at last

  • We got 90 as 1080 when her divided by 12 gives 90 as quotient.

hope it helped!
