The disc will rotate from hinge a till hinge a will come at the centre line of circular disc to take all the load to itself.

Explanation:

Given:

                 mass of the uniform circular disc is 'm'

                  radius of the uniform circular disc is 'r'

    The uniform disc is suspended form both the hinges a and b. SO,

                       load (in terms of force) taken by both the hinges is \frac{1}{2} mg.

           If, one hing suppose b is taken away, the disc will rotate from that hinge to the opposite side of the hinge to another hinge that is remain there to take the load.

All the load is taken by the second hinge. Load on second hinge is total 'm'.

                        load = mg

The disc will come at the position in last stage. So, that the centre of gravity and the vertical load with the hinge come at the same vertical line for best stability.
