Let the particle be displaced from position A to B under the action of the given force then
AB=B-A (taking(0,0,0) as origin)
=2i+3j-2k
Now,work done on the particle
=(force). (displacement)
=(3i+j).(2i+3j-2k)
=9

Answer:

Work done, W = 9 Joules

Explanation:

Given that,

Force, F = (3i + j)

Mass of a particle, m = 2 kg

The particle is displaced form (2i +k) meters to (4i + 3j -k) meters. We have to find the work done by the force on the particle. Work done is given by :

W = F.d

W=F.(r_2-r_1)

W=(3i+j).[(4i+3j-k)-(2i+k)]

W=(3i+j).(2i+3j-2k)

W = 6 + 3 = 9 Joules

So, the work done by the force on the particle is 9 joules.
