one end. Where must the weight be suspended?

Let w be the weight of metre scale.As the scale is balanced at 20cm and 100gf is suspended on one end 0 mark. The weight of longer arm i.e. BC is balanced by 100gf ∴ CW moment = A.C.W moment W × 30 = 20 × 100W = 2000/30 = 66.66gf wt. of 100gf should be suspended at zero mark.
