A uniform metre scale is balanced at 60 CM mark when weights of 10 gf and 30 gf are suspended at 20 cm and 90 cm respectively calculate the weight of the metre scale.​

Let's say the weight off the scale is W then...

Total Clockwise moment=

(40 × 20)=800......1

Total Anti-clockwise moment=

(5×50)+(W×10)=250+W10........2

We know,Total clockwise moment=Total anti-clockwise moment

so...

250+W10=800

or,W10=800-250

or,W10=550

or,W=550÷10

hence W=55gf
