a uniform metre scale of mass 80 g is to be balanced at 70 cm mark.Find from where must a mass of 60 g be suspended to do so.

weight of metre scale= 80g

fulcrum= 70cm

let 60g be suspended at ycm

sum of clockwise moment= sun of anticlockwise moment

60 x y = 80 x [70-50]

60y = 1600

y = 26.67cm

the mass of 60g must be placed at a distance 26.67 cm away from the fulcrum
