It is cut down into two parts
let each part have the resistance R\2 ohms = 20\2 =10 ohms
let the effective resistance be Rn
the two parts are connected in parallel
therefore effective resistance
=1\10 +1\10 =1\Rn
=2\10 =1\Rn
1\Rn=1\5
Rn=5ohms
