Answer:

The leaves have a green pigment called chlorophyll which helps leaves to capture the energy of the sunlight and to synthesis food. Other parts of the plants do not have chlorophyll therefore they are unable to synthesise food.

Answer:

The leaves contain chlorophyll and also have stomata for exchange of gases and large surface area for absorption of sunlight. These are necessary for food production in a plant and are not possessed by any other part of the plant. Hence, leaves are the only parts of a plant which can produce food.
