A van has a petrol consumption of the rate of 10 km . How much petrol is required for a van to travel a distsnce of 85km ( pls answer properly )​

Answer:

Divide the number of litres you have bought to fill the tank

By the number of kilometres you have driven then

Multiply by 100

Which will give you the metric standard of litres/100 kilometres

Example 45 litres / 600 kilometres = 0.075 * 100 = 7.5 l/100kms

Your 85 kms puzzle becomes 7.5 * 0.85 = 6.375 litres

If you are going on a journey greater than 100 kms then eg 185kms add 1 to the 0.85 in the example above to become 1.85 and if 200 then add 2 to 0.85 to become 2.85.

If it is 115 km journey then 7.5 l/100 * 1.15 = 8.625 litres.
