the resistance of a capacitor (capacitive reactance ) varies inversely with frequency. so if frequency increases the resistance decreases and vice versa.
if frequency of AC source is decreased , resistance increases so flow of current decreases.

Hey !!
It is noted that by dropping the variable frequency, there will be drop in displacement current through the capacitor as it carries displacement current. When the frequency decreases, amplitude of current will also decrease.
