The relation of displacement current change with capacitor is I=C×dV/dt.

  • We can also write the relation as V=I×Z or I=V×jWC.
  • This shows the frequency and displacement current as they are directly proportional to each other.
  • When the frequency increases the displacement current also increases.
  • There is also dependency on the phase when it is with respect to source voltage remain constant with frequency.
  • This only happens when there is ideal capacitance.
