Given :- ‘a’ varies inversely as ‘b’. when a = 6, b= 20.

To Find :- constant of variation and equation of variation .

Solution :-

given that,

→ a ∝ 1/b

So,

→ a = k × (1/b) { where k is constant of variation } .

putting given values of a = 6 , b = 20 .

→ 6 = k × (1/20) { Required equation of variation }

→ k = 6 × 20

→ k = 120 .

Hence, the constant of variation is equal to 120 .
