Answer:

A ball of mass 10kg moving with velocity 20m/s collided elastically with the wall and rebound with the same speed .

so, initial momentum of the ball = mv

= 10kg × 20 m/s = 200 kgm/s

final momentum of the ball = m(-v)

[ here negative sign shows that velocity of ball is just opposite direction of its initial motion.]

so, final momentum of the ball = -10 × 20 = -200 kgm/s

hence, change in momentum = final momentum - initial momentum

= -200 - 200 = - 400 kgm/s

hence, magnitude of change in momentum of the ball is 400 kgm/s
