if the vector makes angle with x axis the component would be 10costhetha..

if the vector makes the angle with y axis then the component will be 10sin thetha..

im not getting the figure so i generalized the answer..u choose according to ur need..

Given:

Magnitude of vector A= |A|= 10 units

Angle between y- axis and vector a= 30⁰

To find:

The component of vector A along x-axis.

Solution:

The angle between x- axis and y- axis= 90⁰

Angle between y- axis and vector a= 30⁰

So, angle between x- axis and vector A= 90⁰- 30⁰= 60⁰

We can find the component of vector A along x-axis using the formula:

Vₓ= |V|cosθ where V is the vector and θ is the angle between x- axis and vector .

Aₓ= |A|cosθ            ............................(1)

Put the value of A and θ in 1.

Aₓ= 10cos60⁰

Aₓ= 10 × \frac{1}{2}

Aₓ= 5 unit

Therefore, the component of vector A along x-axis is 5 unit.
