Given:

Magnitude of vector = 10 units

Angle made by vector with horizontal = 30°

To Find: Horizontal component of vector and vertical component of vector

Calculation:

Any vector has two components - vertical and horizontal.

The component of vector along the axis with which the vector is making an angle is equal to the multiplication of magnitude of vector and cosine value of that angle.

The horizontal component = 10 * cos (30°) = 8.66

The vertical component = 10 * sin (30°) = 5

Answer:

Horizontal and vertical components are 8.66 and 5 respectively.
