A vector of magnitude 10 has its rectangular components as 8 and 6 along x and y axes. Find the angles it make with these axes.​

Answer:

The angles subtended by components with the axis;

 \tan(x)  =  \frac{6}{8}

 \tan(x)  =  \frac{3}{4}

x =  \tan^{ - 1} ( \frac{3}{4} )

\color{orange}x = 37°

 \tan(y)  =  \frac{8}{6}

 \tan(y)  =  \frac{4}{3}

y =  \tan^{ - 1} ( \frac{4}{3} )

\color{orange}y= 53°
