A vector of magnitude 3 cannot be added to vector of magnitude 4 what is the magnitude of resultant ?

Answer:

let, vector a = 3 unit

vector b = 4 unit

Resultant = R

Since , vectors cannot be added. So we have to follow the law of addition of vectors

By Pythagoras theorem,

R² = a² + b²

=> R² = (3)² + (4)²

=> R² = 9 + 16

=> R = √25

=> R = 5 unit

Resultant is 5
