Now we have two vector ie vecA and vecB . Now it is given that vecA is directed upwards and vecB points towards the North .

•) Now we have to find the direction of the third vector say vecC such that vecC = vecA×vecB.

•) Now direction of vecA is upward hence let its directional unit vector be k (Z axis) . Similarly vecB is directed towards North so let its directional unit vector be j (Y axis).

•) Now we know that in cross product,

vecC = vecA×vecB = a*b*sinΦ*(k×j)

Where, a and b are the magnitudes of vectors A and B . And Φ is the angle between them ie 90°.

•) Now in vector product we know that k×j = -i

Hence , direction of vecC will be towards negative X axis ie towards west .

•) Hence vecC = -a*bsin90

vecC = -ab
