Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Profit on onions per bag = Rs 100

Loss on Potatoes  per bag = Rs 30

Given

the vegetable merchant sold 40 bags of potatoes

  ⇒ Loss = 30 × 40 = 1200 rs

a) to make by selling onions he should sell the number of bags such that he will get a profit of more than 1200rs on just by selling onion bags.

let the profit be a minimum of  rs 1200.

Profit on onions per bag = Rs 100

∴ number of onions bags he should sell = 1200/100

                                                                 = 12

If the vegetable merchant sells only 12 bags on onions he will have neither profit nor loss.

If the vegetable merchant sells less than 12 bags on onions he will have  loss.

If the vegetable merchant sells more than12 bags on onions he will have  profit.

The project code is #SPJ2.
