Step-by-step explanation:

Cost price (CP) = rs(210*17.5)

= rs 3675

Total selling price = rs{(100*17.20)+(110*17.40)}

=rs{1720+1914}

= rs 3694

SP>CP

therefore, profit occurs

profit= rs(3694-3675)

= rs 19

Answer:

He gained 19 rs of profit

Step-by-step explanation:

Given the seller bought 210 kg tomatoes at rs 17.50 per kg

           total cost of tomatoes = 210 × 17.50 = 3,675 rs

  he sold 100 kg of tomatoes at 17.80 per kg

   the selling price of 100 kg of tomatoes = 100 ×17.80 = 1780 rs

   and remaining tomatoes are sold at 17.40 per kg

  after selling 100 kg remaining tomatoes are 110 kg

   110 kg tomatoes are sold at 17.40 per kg

    the selling price of 110 kg tomatoes = 110 ×17.40 = 1914 rs

  total selling price of tomatoes

                = 100 kg tomatoes selling price + 110 kg tomatoes selling price

                =  1780+ 1914 = 3,694 rs

selling price is greater than cost price

     profit = cost price - selling price

               =  3694 -3675= 19 rs
