Given:

A vegetable seller has 23kg of tomatoes , 20kg 200g are sold to various customers.

To Find:

Weight of the tomatoes remaining with the vegetable seller.

Solution:

We can solve the problem by simple mathematical operations .

1) Initially the seller has 23kg of tomatoes which is also equal to 22kg and 1000g

Since ,(1Kilogram=1000Grams), Therefore we can write 23Kg of tomatoes as 22Kg of tomatoes + 1000grams which is also equal to 23Kg.

2) Now, From the 22Kg 1000g , We have to subtract the amount of tomatoes which are sold i.e, Subtract 20kg 200g from the total .

3) Therefore the final step is (22kg-20kg) + (1000g-200g)

NOTE: Mathematical operations can be performed only if the units are the same . Therefore we cannot  operate kilogram with gram.

=> On calculating the final expression we get, 2Kg + 800g .

Therefore , The amount of tomatoes remaining after selling is 2 kg 800g (OR) 2.8KG.
