A vehicle moves at a speed of 40 km/h, It is stopped by applying brakes which produces a uniform acceleration of -0.6m/s2 . How much distance will the vehicle move before coming to stop?

40Km/hr = 40 * 1000 / (60 * 60) m/s (= 11.1111…).

a = “delta” v / “delta” t = (vf - v0) / t = (0 - v0) / t,

t = -v0 / a = -11.111 /-0.6 = 18.518… sec.,

d = v0 * t / 2 = 11.1111 * 18.518 / 2 = 102.9 m
