A vehicle moves at a speed of 40 km/h, It is stopped by applying brakes which produces a uniform acceleration of -0.6m/s2 . How much distance will the vehicle move before coming to stop?

u = 40 km/h = 100/9 m/s
v =0
a = -0.6 m/s²
∴v²- u² = 2as
⇒(0)² - (100/9)² = 2×(-0.6)×s
⇒s = 10000/(81×1.2)
     =102.9 m
