If we need to find the type of acceleration , firstly we need to find the acceleration .

Finding acceleration using first equation of motion.

» v = u + at

Where,

  • v → final velocity = 0 m/s
  • u → initial velocity = 25 m/s
  • a → acceleration = ?
  • t → time taken = 5 s

Note :-

  • Here , the final velocity will be zero because in the given question the vehicle stops after five seconds.
  • Initial velocity will be 25 m/s because the vehicle starts with speed 25 m/s.

Substituting the values we have

➺ 0 = 25 + a(5)

➺ 0 - 25 = 5a

➺ - 25 ÷ 5 = a

a = - 5 m/

Note :- Negative sign will show that the acceleration decreased that means it is negative acceleration .
