Given :-

A vehicle travelling from place A to place B

velocity in first half = 72 km/h = 20 m/s

velocity in second half = 36 km/h = 10 m/s

To find :-

average velocity of the vehicle

Solution :-

Let the average velocity be v_{av}

Let velocity in first half be considered as v_{1}

Let velocity in second half be considered as v_{2}

v_{av} =\frac{v_{1}+v_{2}}{2}

v_{av} =\frac{20+10}{2}

v_{av} = \frac{30}{2}

v_{av}=15

Conclusion :-

Therefore, the average velocity of the vehicle was 15 m/s or 54 km/h
