SOLUTION.

First Convert all the unit in m and sec.

Initial Velocity (u) = 20m/sec

Time = 5 sec

Final velocity (v) = 0

ACC to equation of motion.

v = u - at

0 = 20 - 5a

20 = 5a

Deceleration = 4m/sec²

v² = u² - 2as

0² = (20)² - 2(4)s

400 = 8s

Distance require to stop the vehicle = 50m

As the baby was 40m away so Accident occur.
