Answer:

We know that the SP of 10 bananas = ₹36

SP of 1 banana = ₹36/10=₹3.6

SP of 1 dozen bananas = ₹3.6×12=₹43.20

CP of 1 dozen bananas = ₹40

Since, SP is more than CP so it’s a gain.

Gain=SP−CP=43.20−40=23.2

Gain%=(3.2×100)/40

=8%

∴ The Gain percent is 8%

SOLUTION

TO CHOOSE THE CORRECT OPTION

A vendor bought bananas for ₹ 48 per dozen and sold it at ₹ 60 per dozen. His profit percent

1. 20%

2. 25%

3. 80%

4. 12.5%

EVALUATION

Here it is given that the vendor bought bananas for ₹ 48 per dozen and sold it at ₹ 60 per dozen

Cost price per dozen = ₹ 48

Selling price per dozen = ₹ 60

Since Selling price > Cost price

So there is a gain

The gain amount per dozen

= ₹ 60 - ₹ 48

= ₹ 12

Hence the required gain percent

 \sf = \dfrac{12}{48} \times 100\%

 \sf = \dfrac{1}{4} \times 100\%

 \sf = 25\%

FINAL ANSWER

Hence the correct option is 2. 25%
