COSTPrice of 1 banana = 1/3
selling price of 1 banana = 1/4
Loss = 1/3- 1/4 = 1/12
%loss = (1/12 ×100)/1/3 = 25%

Find the cost of 1 banana:

3 bananas = Rs 1

1 banana = 1 ÷ 3 = Rs 1/3

Find the Selling Price of 1 banana:

4 bananas = Rs 1

1 bananan = 1 ÷ 4 = Rs 1/4

Find the profit or loss:

1/3 > 1/4

It is a loss

Loss = 1/3 - 1/4 = 1/12

Loss Percentage =( 1/12 ÷ 1/3 ) x 100 = 25%

Answer: The transaction has a loss of 25%
