SOLUTION:-

Given:

A vendor purchases 50 dozen of oranges for 450. Out of these 60 oranges were found rotten.

To find:

The rate he sell the remaining oranges to make profit of 10%.

Explanation:

•Cost price of the 50 dozen= Rs.450.

If the vendor wants a profit of 10% then the S.P.

=) 10/100 × 450

=) Rs.45

=) Rs.450 + 50

=) Rs.500

Therefore,

50 dozens of oranges= Rs.450.

(12×50) of oranges = Rs.450

=) 600 of oranges= Rs.450

Oranges which can sold;

=) 600- 60

=) 540

The vendor has to sell 540 Oranges for Rs.500 to get profit 10%.

=) 540 Oranges = Rs.500

=) 1 Oranges= 500/540

=) 1 Oranges= 0.925925.

So,

12 oranges = Rs.(12× 0.925925925925)

12 oranges= Rs.11

Thus,

The vendor has to sell the oranges at Rs.11 per dozen.
