A verandah 1.25m wide is constructed all along the outside of room 5.5m long and 4m wide, find the area of verandah and find the cost of cementing the floor of the verandah at the rate of $25 per square m?​

given length of room= 5.5

wide = 1.25

cost of cementing of verandah 25 square per metre

length of room with verandah 5.5 +1.25 + 1.25 = 8

wide of a room with verandah 4 +1.25 +1.25 = 6.5

area of room l×b 5.5×4 = 22m sq

area of room with verandah l× b = 8× 6.5 = 52

area of verandah = area of the room with verandah - area of room

52- 22 = 30

cost of cementing is = area × rate

30 × 25 = 750 rupee
