A verandah 15m long and 12m broad is to be paved with tiles, each measuring 6dm by 5dm. Find the number of tiles needed.

Length of Varandah = 15 m
Breadth of Varandah = 12 m
So, area = length x breath
= 15 m x 12 m
= 180 m square

Length of tiles = 6 dm = 0.6 m
Breadth of tiles = 5 dm = 0.5 m
So, area = length x breath
= 0.6 m x 0.5 m
= 0.3 m square

So, number of tiles needed = 180/0.3
= 600

So, 600 tiles are needed....
