a verandah 2m wide is constructed all around outside a room 5 m long and 4m wide .Find the cost of cementing the verandha at the rate of rs 15 per square meter

Solution:-

For Room,

Length = 5m

Breadth = 4m

=> Area = 5 × 4

=> Area = 20 m^2.

For Room & Verandah.

Length = (5 + 2 + 2)m = 9m

& Breadth = (4 + 2 + 2)m = 8m.

=> Area = 9 × 8

=> Area = 72 m^2

Now,

Area of Veranda = Area of whole - Ar. of room

=> Ar. of Veranda = 72 - 20

=> Ar. of Veranda = 52 m^2

Cost of fencing for 1m^2 :- 15

=> Cost of fencing for 52m^2 = 15 × 52

=> Cost of fencing for the Verandah = 780 Rupee.
