Dimensions of verandah

length = 40 m = 40 * 100 cm = 4000 cm

breadth = 15 m = 15*100 cm= 1500 cm

Area of verandah =

length * breadth

4000*1500 cm² = 60,00,000 cm²

Dimensions of stone to be paved

length = 2 dm = 2*10 cm = 20 cm

breadth = 2 dm = 2*10 = 20 cm

Area of stone =

length * breadth

20 *20 cm² = 400 cm²

number of stones

required for pavement =

Area of verandah / area of stone

= 60,00,000 / 400

= 15000

Hence, 15000 stones are required for the pavement of verandah.
