since:
l =40m
b=15 m
area of verandah[rectangle]=l*b
                                             =40m*15m
                                             =600m.sq
and stone each measuring 6dm by5dm
by converting it into meter we get,
    0.6m by  0.5m
now, area of stone= l*b
                              =0.6m*0.5m
                              =0.3m.sq
now, number of stone required =area of verandah/area of stone
                                                  =600m.sq/0.3m.sq
                                                  =600*10/3
                                                  =6000/3
                                                   =2000.
done! may you got use of this ....

Answer:

2000

Step-by-step explanation:

1 m = 10 dm

Length of verandah = 40 m = 400 dm

Breadth of verandah = 15 m = 150 dm

So, Area of verandah = Length \times Breadth

                                   = 400 \times 150

                                   = 60000 m^2

Length of stone = 6 dm

Breadth of stone = 5 dm

So, Area of 1 stone = Length \times Breadth

                                   = 6 \times 5

                                   = 30 m^2

So, Number of stones required = \frac{60000}{30}

                                                   = 2000

Hence 2000 stones are required .
