Since:
l =40m
b=15 m
area of verandah[rectangle]=l*b
                                             =40m*15m
                                             =600m.sq
and stone each measuring 6dm by5dm
by converting it into meter we get,
    0.6m by  0.5m
now, area of stone= l*b
                              =0.6m*0.5m
                              =0.3m.sq
now, number of stone required =area of verandah/area of stone
                                                  =600m.sq/0.3m.sq
                                                  =600*10/3
                                                  =6000/3
                                                   =2000.
done! may you got use of this ....

Length and Breadth of Verandah = 40m & 15m respectively.

Length and Breadth of Stones = 2dm & 2dm = 0.2m & 0.2m [Since, 1m = 10dm => 1dm = 0.1m]

Area of Verandah = Length × Breadth
= 40m × 15m
 = {600m}^{2}
Area of each stone = L × B
= 0.2m × 0.2m
 = {0.04m}^{2}
Therefore nimber of stones required =
 \frac{area \: of \: verandah}{area \: of \: each \: stone} \\ = \frac{{600m}^{2} }{ {0.04m}^{2} } \\ = 15000
Therefore, 15000 stones are required to be paved.

THERE YOU GO!!!.....
