→given the length of the room is 550cm.

in metres=550/100

=5.5m

→breadth of the room is 4m.

hence area of the room=l×b

=5.5×4

=22m²

a 225cm width verandah is constructed all around the room.

in metres=225/100

=2.25m

hence the length of the verandah will be=5.5+2.25+2.25

=5.5+4.5

=10m

breadth of the verandah=4+2.25+2.25

=4+4.5

=8.5m

therefore area of the room along with the verandah=l×b

=10×8.5

=85m²

thus area of the verandah=85-22

=63m²

cost of cementing the verandah per ₹200 m²=63×200

=₹12600
