A verandah which is 30 m long and 12 m broad is to be paved with stone ,each measuring 4 dm by 3 dm. Find the number of stones required.

area of the verandah =length*breadth=30*12=360 m

1 dm=0.1 m

3 dm=0.1*3=0.3

4 dm=0.1*4=0.4

area of the stone=l*b = 0.4*0.3 m=0.12 m

number of stones required=360/0.12=3000=ans
