A verandah which is 40 m long and 15 m broad has to be paved with stones,each measuring 6 dm by 5 dm.Howmany stones would be required to pave the vetandah?​

The length of the verandha = 40m

                                              = 1m = 100cm

                                              = 40m = 4000cm

The breadth of the verandha = 15m

                                                 1m = 100cm

                                                15m = 1500cm

The length of the stone = 6dm

                                         = 1dm = 10cm

                                         = 6dm = 60cm

The breadth of the stone = 5dm

                                          = 1dm = 10cm

                                          = 5dm = 50dm

The area of the verandha = l*b

                                          = 4000cm * 1500cm

                                        =  6000000cm2

The area of one stone = 60cm * 50cm

                                      = 3000cm2

The number of stones required to pave the verandha = 6000000/3000

                                                                                        2000  

So, The number of stones required to pave the verandha is 2000
