A vertical 12 m long casts a shadow 8 m long on the ground. At the same time a tower casts the shadow 40 m long on the ground. find the height of the tower​

Explanation:

The height of the vertical is 12m

The length of the shadow is 8m

So tan(theta)= 12/8

=3/2............. (1)

Now since the time is same the shadow of the tower will also make an angle theta from the ground.

So now

tan(theta) = x/40

3/2=x/40 ................ ( from (1))

so, x=(40×3) /2

x= 60m

So height of the tower is 60 m
