Given  : a vertical stick of length 50cm casts a shadow of length 20cm at the same time a tree casts a shadow of length 7cm

To Find :  the height of tree

Solution:

the height of tree   = h cm

At the same time Ratio of height and shadow length will be constant

Hence

Height of tree / Shadow length of tree  =  Height of stick / Shadow length of stick

=> h/7  =  50/20

=> h/7 = 5/2

=> h = 7 x 5 /2

=> h = 35/2

=> h = 17.5 cm

height of tree is 17.5 cm
