a vertical Tower is 20 m height a man standing at some distance from the tower known that cosine of the angle of elevation of the top of the tower is 0.53 how far is he standing from the foot of the tower?

    A/c to quesion, 
cosine = 0.53
so, sine  =  \sqrt{1-cosine^2}=\sqrt{1-0.53^2}=0.85

now, tan = sine/cosine = 0.53/0.85 = 85/53
but tan = height of tower /distanceb/w tower and man
          85/53   = 20/D
            53D = 53*20 = 1060
            D = 12.47 m

hence, distance between man and tower = 12.47 m
