given that the height of flagstaff =5m

Now,

Let height of tower be q and distance between the tower be x

from triangle ABC

tan 60°= 5+q/x

= 5+q = x root 3 ----------1

and from triange DBC

tan 30°= q/x =》x=q root 3 ---------2

From 1 and 2 we get

5+q=root 3 × q root 3

5+q=3q

2q=5

q=2.5

Thus , height of tower = 2.5 m
