Given : A very small tumor of initial size M is observed every ten days, and over each ten-day period, it has grown 60% larger.
To Find : Write a formula representing the size of the tumor after t days (t= 0, 10, 20 ...)
Solution:
Initial size = M
at 0 Day = M
after 10 days = M + (60/100) M = 1.6M
after 20 days = 1.6M + (60/100)1.6M = 1.6²M ( 2 = 20/10)
after 30 days = 1.6²M + (60/100)1.6²M = 1.6³M ( 3 = 30/10)
after 10n days = 1.6ⁿM ( 3 = 30/10)
Formula = M * 1.6 ^(t/10)
