Assume a container contains x units of a milk. From the container, y units are taken out and replaced by water, n number of times. the quantity of pure milk remaining = x(1 - y/x)ⁿ

180(1 - 60/180)³ = 180(1 - 1/3)³ = 180 x (2/3)³ = 180 x 8/27 = 160/3 = 53  1/3 litres
