Answer:

25:11

Step-by-step explanation:

Given A vessel contains 24 litres of milk, 4 litres are withdrawn and replaced by water. The process is repeated a second time. Find the ratio of milk to water in the resulting mixture?

Now initial volume of milk is equal to volume of milk left

So initial volume of milk = 24 litres which is volume of vessel

Now x = 4 litres and n = 2 times.

We know that

Volume of milk left = 24 ( 1 – x / v)^n

                              = 24 ( 1 – 4/24)^2

                            = 50/3

Ratio of milk to water = 50 / 3 (24 – 50 / 3)

                                    = 50 / 22

                                     = 25 / 11

So ratio will be 25:11
