Answer:

Percentage of oil leaked  = 5%

Litres of oil leaked             = 5/100 x 500l

                                             = 25 litres

litres of oil in tanker after leakage = 500 -25 = 475l

Answer :-

  • 475 litres of oil is left in the vessel.

To find :-

  • The litres of oil in the vessel.

Solution :-

  • It is given that a vessel contains 500 litres of oil and 5% of oil is lost by leakage. We have to find the litres of oil left in the vessel. For this, let's first find 5% of 500 litres.

-----------------------------------------------------------

 \longmapsto\rm5\% \: of \: 500

 \longmapsto\rm \dfrac{5}{100} \times 500

 \longmapsto\dfrac{5}{1 \!\!\!\not0 \!\!\!\not0} \times 5 \!\!\!\not0 \!\!\!\not0

 \longmapsto\rm \dfrac{5}{1} \times 5

 \longmapsto\rm5 \times 5

 \longmapsto \underline{\boxed{\rm25}}

 \\

Hence :-

  • 25 litres of oil was lost by leakage.

Thus :-

  • The number of litres of oil left in the vessel = 500 - 25 = 475 litres.
