 The proportion of the solution of two liquids = 5 ∶ 3

At the point when 10 liters of the solution is taken out and replaced by a similar amount of B, the proportion of An and B in the vessel becomes

10 ∶ 11.

Solution:

The proportion of two liquids An and B is = 5x: 3x

According to the question,

(5x - 5/8 x 10) / (3x - 3/8 x 10 + 10) = 10/11

⇒ ((40x - 50) / 8) / ((24x - 30 +80) / 8) = 10/11

⇒ (4x - 5)/(24x + 50) = 1/11

⇒ 44x - 55 = 24x + 50

⇒ 44x - 24x = 50 + 55

⇒ 20x = 105

x = 105/20 = 21/4

All out amount of liquids = (21/4) × 8 = 42 liters

The amount of the solution in the vessel was 42 liters.
