Step-by-step explanation:

Qty. Of water in 30 litres = (7/10)× 30= 21 litres

So the qty. Of milk in 30 litres = 30 - 21 = 9 litres

Let the quantity of milk to be added to make the ratio of water and milk in the ratio 3:7.

Then 21/(9+x) = 3/7. Taking cross products

3(9+x) = 21×7 => 27+3x = 147 => 3x = 147 - 27

=> 3x = 120 => x = 120/3 = 40.

So 40 litres of milk should be added.
